The Whitmore Legacy (2.12)

So remember I said Daphne and Minthe have been getting along? That’s been continuing, and I really just wanted to get some cute shots in before Minthe gets older. I set up a play tent in the portrait room, because wow, that piece of furniture is quite big, but both girls are quite happy to play there.

I also love this picture of them babbling to each other in front of the portraits! It looks like Nia’s watching over them. I mean, she is, but as a ghost.

Moving along to Noelle news, she’s been pretty uncomfortable with this pregnancy, so I sent her to Henford-on-Bagley. I’d not really explored there much before, and it had a festival coming up, so I wanted to test the waters. I had Noelle invite her brothers and as much of their family as possible to go along with her. As always, Rowan was happy to see her! (They actually became Best Friends when she went to his house!)

There was a lot of small things going on at the Llama Fair, but I wanted Noelle to check out the two stalls just a bit away from it. They had a LOT of cool stuff! We got more things for the garden, and met Agnes, who was very pleased with the amount of money Noelle spent. (I was kind of dazzled enough by all the new things that we did end up spending a lot.)

The other Whitmores spent most of their time socialising – I can’t believe how grown up Tabitha is these days! Seriously, Sims grow up so fast…

Noelle also got to pet a Llama, and seemed to get along with it so much that I’m genuinely considering getting one for the household (not right now, but maybe later?)

So all in all, the Finchwick Llama fair was a huge success! We now have a patch outside for most of the plants we bought while there, and I think that’ll really help boost things. As always, I’m expanding the garden bit by bit!

But remember I said Minthe was getting older? Well…she aged up!

Loario made her birthday cake, and helped her blow out the candles. She’s so cute in this photo!

And here she is, Minthe Whitmore, the eldest child! She really is a lot like her dad, don’t you think?

She has the Child of the Islands trait, and the Whiz Kid aspiration. I always have trouble with the Whiz Kid aspiration, honestly.

Just before I wrap this up, I want to show off Minthe’s room, which is a newly built room upstairs (the nursery being nearly in use!) that I take a bit of pride in.

I really love it, frankly!

Until next time!

The Whitmore Legacy (2.11)

Apparently having kids isn’t a reprieve from being challenged to a magical duel, because Lea phoned up Noelle and challenged her to a duel. Given that I was a teensy bit bored, Noelle agreed, and flew off to meet Lea.

Noelle looked happy to be there, but I guess Lea might be a little bit sour over losing the legacy to Noelle (she was one of the candidates to be the Spouse of the next generation, after all) and so both ladies got ready to duel.

Noelle, in the red corner, with a wand!

And…Lea in the blue corner with her hands. Okay.

Noelle didn’t actually seem to want to play fair, as Lea got knocked to her feet a few times before the battle proper began. Then, it was a contest of wills…

And a free flying lesson for Lea. Noelle really wasn’t playing fair!

She even gloated a little at winning, but hey, Lea challenged her. Oh well! Maybe she won’t hold a grudge?

Back home, things were less magical. Daphne broke the dollshouse in a fit of rage, so while Loario took her off for a bath, Noelle ended up repairing the thing by hand. Sigh.

After Daphne’s bath, she was put to bed and encouraged to sleep. She really is adorable, but I hope this is the only time she decides to break the dollshouse…

Mind you, I can tell you right now that she probably picked it up from her grandmother.

Even though I watched Nia smash the castle, I couldn’t believe she’d do that! I was so shocked, and clearly she’s taught Daphne bad habits…

Moving on, I finally did it! Noelle had her portrait painted by Loario, and isn’t it a beauty? I love it when these portraits come out in excellent quality. It’s now hung up in the portrait room, titled Noelle Whitmore, Heiress. As each of the children reach the child stage, I’ll have photos of them surrounding her, just like Nia’s portrait has, but right now I’m just stunned by how beautiful this picture is!

And the model herself was upstairs playing princesses with Minthe, of course. Look at this adorable picture.

As for Loario, I’ve been having him take care of the garden and levelling up a lot of his creative skills. Between the garden and the art, the household manages to pay its bills without having to really worry about bills.

Last but not least…After a very satisfying Love Day, Noelle is pregnant again! I’ll be upfront and say that I saved up and purchased the Fertile trait for her beforehand, so it could be multiple babies. She was so excited to tell Loario!

So that’s it until next time! I look forward to tomorrow’s update!

The Whitmore Legacy (2.10)

Well, it’s the moments you’ve all been waiting for! So much happened this time around, it was really a blast!

First off, we had Nia coming back in her cold-weather outfit and gloomily floating around. A lot of my ghosts turn up in the different colours, but Nia being sad definitely made my heart ache.

Talking to Loario cheered her up though, and I like to think that maybe he was telling her all about her granddaughters and brand-new baby Daphne, who as a ghost she’ll actually get to see! So things aren’t all that bad.

Noelle got to speak to her mother as well, which I was relieved by because when Nia first popped up, Noelle was asleep, and I was convinced she was going to miss the spectral visit (dun dun dun) but she did, in fact, end up waking up and coming downstairs completely autonomously.

And Minthe got to hug her nanna again! Look at this pure cuteness. Not even death stops this lady from cuddling her granddaughter.

Speaking of reunions, Noelle went to visit Rowan and his new family again, meeting up with Cali and having just the greatest time. I did take a lot of photos, but Noelle took a selfie with her brother that I think is probably the best one.

I’m thinking it might be nice to have a small portrait of Loario painted by Noelle, and then get Loario to skill up so that Noelle can have a beautiful portrait soon. I love painting portraits of my Legacy family! I still love Nia’s beautiful portrait, but as a full fledged heiress, Noelle needs a portrait too.

Daphne aged up, and looks so much like her mother! I had so much fun dressing her in the newest things I have from the latest expansion pack, because they’re just SO CUTE on toddlers.

Noelle also adores her mini-me, and I got such a good photo of them together. Look at this! I really love the new clothing for toddlers, it’s so cute!

Minthe and Daphne get along really well, and surprisingly quietly to boot! Maybe because Daphne is that bit younger than Minthe…

I also decided that given that they now had two children together, it was probably time for Loario and Noelle to maybe think about getting married. So, Loario popped the question…

And I think that’s a yes!

She jumped into his arms afterwards, and I’ve decided to actually throw a wedding this time around and invite their family and friends. I have a feeling it’ll be a lot of fun!

Until next time!

The Whitmore Legacy (2.9)

After Nia’s death, everyone in the family was really sad, but especially Noelle. She was still pregnant when her mother passed away, and she looked so sad I couldn’t help but feel sorry for her. I had her strengthen Nia’s connection, but there didn’t seem to be any sign of her.

Loario has been spending a lot of time parenting Minthe, and while he’s sad, he’s also making sure to do other things. Minthe’s been crying a lot too, which breaks my heart even more. Nia was such a core part of the household! She wasn’t just the founder, but she was a shelter for everyone, and now Noelle is in charge. But Loario has really stepped up when it comes to his daughter, and I couldn’t be happier.

Just as well, given that a short while after Noelle went into labour. He panicked, of course, while Noelle barely even looks bothered. That’s an ‘I’ve done this before’ look if ever I’ve seen one! And rest assured, she did do really well.

So, in addition to Minthe, we now have Daphne Whitmore! Noelle looks so proud of her, and I would be too. Again, Daphne is named after a character from Lore Olympus, who in turn is an interpretation of the character from Greek mythology. I’m probably going to name the next baby either Psyche or Hermes, dependent on gender.

Also, our sweet little kitten Ruby aged up! She looks very dignified now she’s an old lady, but I think it suits her.

Of course, Daphne won’t stay a baby forever, so I ended up renovating Nia’s old room upstairs into a big nursery and playroom. It has everything, given how much money the garden alone is bringing in, and I just love it! I love building kids’ rooms in the Sims.

Minthe continues to be absolutely adored by her parents, and she’s extremely happy to have a new sibling! I rarely get Sims who are, so I was incredibly relieved. She’s still not a fan of flash cards, though.

I think I can safely say that this little family will muddle along together, even if Nia is no longer leading the household. They’re doing so well together!

Lastly, a quick note – I’ve not updated this in so long because I’ve not had internet, but that does mean I’ve been playing a lot of Sims, so I’m hoping to update every day until I’m caught up! Catch you next time!

The Whitmore Legacy – Remembering Nia Whitmore

The founder of our Legacy, Nia Whitmore, has passed away. I thought a look back on her life was in order, and I hope you enjoy the memories shown here.

Nia started as the founder of this Legacy with nothing much, as per the rules. However, she was a cheerful Sim and I really took a delight in creating her.

In Memoriam of Nia Whitmore

Nia Whitmore started her Legacy when young, and fought to establish herself with the little she had.

Soon she met Ritvik, who she chose as her spouse, and he came to join her in what was then a very tiny house that barely had room for them both, but they had each other.

And then, they had their first child, Luca.

Soon both their family and house had grown. It wasn’t much, but it was theirs.

It wasn’t long before Nia was expecting their second child, either!

Rowan was born, and Nia truly loved him too. Their little family was growing rapidly, and both she and Ritvik were working hard to provide for their children.

Nia was a good mother, teaching her sons and supporting them as they grew up under her watchful eye. She read to them…

Gave them advice…

And created memories with them that they would never forget.

She was always happy with their achievements, and helped them where she could.

And nothing could halt the love she had for Ritvik.

One Winterfest, Nia brought the boys the biggest present they could have wished for…

A sister!

With Noelle as part of the family, the Whitmores truly felt complete. Nia loved her little daughter and was happy that they could provide a home for her.

Of course, as more time passed, the children grew older…

And so did Nia.

But time, unfortunately, wasn’t on everyone’s side.

After the heavy blow of losing her husband, Nia turned to the comfort of her children.

And yet, her children were also finding love in their lives. Both Rowan and Luca had found love.

Nia welcomed her daughters-in-law wholeheartedly, with all the happiness in the world. Just as she had with her own children, she offered them advice and a shoulder to lean on.

Within a few years, Lea had been welcomed into their home and was expecting a baby. Nia was able to hold her first grandchild, Tabitha.

Noelle, in the meantime, was excited to be an aunt.

Tabitha grew up to look just like her father, and Nia was happy to be her grandmother.

Eventually, Tabitha, Luca, and Lea moved out, and the family was small once again. But Nia still worked her hardest to provide for them.

Cali and Rowan had the first grandson, Poplar, who Nia adored. But by this time, Nia truly was a grandmother. The years had been kind to her, but they had been years all the same.

Finally, she had to decide upon an heir, and she decided to give the Legacy to Noelle. Cali and Rowan took their son and moved out, and now it was just Noelle and Nia.

Nia was a devoted mother, a kind and caring grandmother, and even got to see Noelle’s first child.

Minthe was loved very much by Nia, and the last grandchild she saw enter this world.

She was still there for her daughter, too, up until the end.

After her death, Nia was laid to rest beside her husband in the family graveyard, where it is hoped they are reunited.

To the end, Nia never stopped supporting her children and family. She was a cheerful mother, a loving partner, and a caring grandmother. Her portrait will be displayed for future generations to see for a long time to come, so that they may know the wonderful woman who founded their family.

The Whitmore Legacy (2.8)

I’ve been trying to improve the Whitmore family home in bits and pieces, and also trying to get Loario and Noelle’s skills up as I realised how heavily this household relies on Nia.

First up, I expanded the greenhouse room and moved as many plants as I could across from the portrait gallery. I’m thinking that in the future, moving the portrait room upstairs could mean a bigger greenhouse, but for now we have this.

I’m also getting Noelle to focus on her painting as much as I can, because while neither she or Loario actually need a job at the moment (the funds are pretty good) it’s still important to have someone in the family who can paint portraits.

Nia also went to visit Rowan, and Poplar’s all grown up now! Though automatically assigned fashion is still…debatable. The boy standing next to him is his cousin and also Lucas Munch’s son.

Luca also autonomously came to visit, which had me worried at first, but all he really did was shout at Blarffy…

And while Minthe was sleeping right behind him. Sigh.

Noelle and Nia had an autonomous chat on Nia’s bed, which I felt was kind of bittersweet, because in my mind it was like Nia was passing on as much advice as she could to Noelle.

And then it happened.

I was just watching with utter sadness as Nia fell slowly to the ground. I know we’ve already lost Ritvik, but Nia was my founder.

Her family found her pretty quickly, and were understandably devastated. Noelle by this point is in her third trimester, which made it even harder, because Nia wouldn’t get to see this grandchild.

And of course, Grim showed up. Noelle pleaded for Nia’s life with him, but he wasn’t having any of it.

After he left, I put Nia to rest alongside Ritvik in the little graveyard outside, and put some flower vases around them. Finally, they were together again in death.

I’ll be doing a second update in memoriam of Nia, which is probably going to be a little lengthy, but this really broke my heart a little. Even though I knew it was coming, I still feel quite sad about her.

Till next time.

The Whitmore Legacy (2.7)

We’re back! And just as I predicted, I’ve been walking on eggshells around my legacy save.

Nia completed Noelle’s portrait, and it’s now in the plant/portrait room, which I should probably vacate of plants at some point. Ah, well!

Here’s the actual screenshot of Noelle sitting for the portrait – it actually went pretty well given how getting Sims to sit for a portrait usually goes!

I also redecorated the kitchen like I was planning to, and did it up in Noelle’s signature pink. We now have slightly better things to cook with, and I even splashed out on a bin that should be pretty catproof. I think everything looks really lovely!

Nia also retired, because I really don’t want to make things worse by tiring her out with work.

Plus, she’s looking after the family! She’s the best cook in the house, and I assure you that neither Loario or Noelle are particularly great cooks yet.

As well as painting Noelle’s portrait, Nia also managed to paint a Masterpiece – I’m not one to collect them but this is absolutely beautiful.

Nia’s actually been painting a lot recently, and her skill in that is getting higher all the time! It’s really strange to think how she and Ritvik started out when they were first together, because now the house is just beautiful and things are much better.

Speaking of beautiful, Minthe aged up!

She’s very like her mother at the same age, and just so cute! Nia definitely thinks so as well.

I also got a cute shot of Minthe being put to bed by her grandmother. Look at these two! They’re so cute! Fun fact, Minthe has the Weak Bloodline trait from Noelle being a Spellcaster, but I don’t know if she’s a Spellcaster too – I don’t think so, but it’s interesting all the same!

Rowan’s old room is officially the nursery now, and Noelle is also pregnant again. I’m definitely looking to have multiple children this time round.

Loario looks tired already, which is making me giggle. This poor man, he’s going to be EXHAUSTED for the first few bits of this generation. Noelle’s also getting morning sickness right away, which has to be rough.

Still, she and Loario did briefly go to the Festival of Lights, and it seems like they had a fun time!

So our little family is most definitely growing, but I’m always more and more worried for Nia. I’m planning on doing a commemorative episode when she does pass away, but she’s lived for 99 days so far, which is pretty astonishing.

See you all again soon!

The Whitmore Legacy (2.6)

First things first, it’s Winterfest and Noelle looks like she’s carrying twins! She looks absolutely miserable, but…this is only the first of who knows how many pregnancies.

Nia stepped in to make the dinner, although it doesn’t look that impressive. I’m not great at managing the holidays in my games so the table isn’t set at all, but she looks to be spending some quality time with Loario.

I’m thinking that at this point, I should probably rip out the kitchen and replace it with a nice new shiny one, because practically everything in this kitchen is battered and bad.

Nia also had a cuddle with Ruby in her pajamas, which was a really cute shot.

Then it was time for Noelle and Loario to decorate the tree!

This is such a cute shot – Noelle with her baby bump and a smile while Loario hangs an ornament? Oh my goodness! Definitely one of my favourite Winterfest pics so far in this legacy.

Plus, once they were done, the tree looked really cute!

Father Winter definitely seemed to agree when he came to visit!

Everyone got a present, and Loario got the best one of all…a Motion Gaming Mat!

And then, in a puff of smoke, Father Winter was gone! I didn’t even have to sell all the gifts this time around, which was fortunate.

Everyone had a really good Winterfest as a result, and I think next time around I’ll be able to put even more effort into it! It’s a really good holiday and I had a lot of fun playing through it.

Plus, once we packed up all of the Winterfest items, we had room for the Gaming Mat! Loario’s been mostly the one to use it, and I also decided to splash out on some nice pink wallpaper to replace the blue from before.

He also found a Potion of Curse Cleansing on Plopsy, and Noelle was able to drink it and finally be free of the curse she received back in her teens! Yay! No more weird magic!

She…then immediately went into labour.

I decided that this time around, I was going to name everyone in this generation after different characters in Lore Olympus (one of my favourite Webtoons) so meet Minthe Whitmore, our first baby of the next generation!

She’s absolutely adorable, and I had Noelle dress her in the little ice cream cone onesie.

Her dad adores her too! I think Loario is going to be a really devoted dad.

Unfortunately, that’s just as well, because I got the notification I’ve been dreading for some time while I was playing. Nia is on her last days, and while she’s lasted longer than I could ever have hoped for, she’s not got long left and will pass on soon.

I remember how hard my first Legacy Founder death hit me when I first played this challenge, and I don’t think it’s going to be any easier this time. I’m really attached to Nia and I really don’t want to lose her, but I think it’s only right that she should paint Noelle’s portrait to add to the portrait room before she passes.

I’m going to miss her so much, and I’ll be nervous for the next few times I play, but ultimately this is how the game works.

Until next time, readers!

The Whitmore Legacy (2.5)

It’s official, we’ve got an heir incoming!

I know it’s been quite a while since I last updated, but what an update! I’m seriously so happy! I’m kind of hoping for a girl if I’m honest!

Here’s the nursery, decked out in Noelle’s colours:

Of course, after that, the family had to drop round and approve of Loario. I swear they just showed up by themselves, I had nothing to do with this. I love this screenshot because it totally looks like Rowan is telling Loario embarrassing childhood stories about Noelle!

Speaking of Loario, he’s an interior decorator, and he took a gig for the Elderberries! It was my first time testing this feature and while it was a little stressful, it was also pretty fun!

I like the elegant style I ended up going with!

And the clients were certainly very pleased! Rohan in this save is married to Morgan Fyres, and they have two children together. (In my other save, he’s kind of a deadbeat dad while Morgan is the best friend of my Sim, so this is kind of funny.)

But it was a fun experience and I think the house looks really nice!

Happily, it’s also that time of year again, which brings back so many memories for me. Noelle joined the family during Winterfest, as I mentioned before, and it looks like she might have her baby the day after.

Then…

And now!

It’s a good reminder of how much the house has changed, too. I remember desperately trying to squeeze everything into the house for Winterfest, and now we have a greenhouse room, several bedrooms, and everything one could want. I still feel like it’s pretty basic, but I’m sure that as time goes on we’ll eventually get there.

Also, Ritvik swung by to officially approve of Loario. I think Rowan’s just here to pet the cat at this point.

Ritvik also makes cake every time he pops up. Is this a normal thing?

Ah well, at least Noelle isn’t going hungry.

Until next time!

The Whitmore Legacy (2.4)

Without further ado, I would like to introduce….Noelle’s birthday! I’m hyped, are you hyped?

Her birthday cake meant that Nia mastered the Cooking Skill, which I adore because I don’t think that’s ever happened in game for me before. It was winter in game, so I chose the winter cake, which is actually also thematic given she joined the family at Winterfest!

Sadly I didn’t get a picture of her blowing out the candles, but here’s a picture of her as she is now! She’s pretty much 100% Dream Home Decorator for her outfit, and I absolutely adore her. Look at how cute she is!

So now I absolutely have to redesign her room, as it’s now the master bedroom! I wanted to really go for a pastel pink theme for Noelle overall, and I really love how it turned out (with some space left over for hobbies and such later on!)

With that out of the way, it was time to send our girl spouse hunting! I decided that San Myshuno was probably the best place for her to scout out potential partners, so I sent her over to the art gallery.

(Rowan showed up here, and I was so excited to see him in his painter’s outfit. Look at him!)

However, pretty soon I noticed two young men at one of the stands outside.

Bingo!

I sent Noelle over to make Polite Introductions (she’s got the Good Manners trait as well as Responsible as a Young Adult) and she got to chatting with both of them while I weighed up who I thought it should be.

Eventually, I decided on the lovely man behind the counter, Loario, and Noelle and he had a really lovely time talking.

I think he’s going to be an excellent addition to our legacy! Welcome to the family, Loario!

Here he is after a clothing makeover! I tried to make sure his clothing would complement Noelle’s style, and honestly, it really suits him.

I’m very excited to see how this will go! Roll on, Generation Two!
